Focus New Year, New Opportunities, New Look
Horizon Europe (HE) was launched on 2 February 2021, bringing €95.5 billion in funding and networking opportunities over the next 7 years. 2021 also marks the 20th anniversary of Euresearch. In honour of both, we have launched a new visual design.
The adoption of the EU
budget in early December 2020, several months later than originally planned,
finally cleared the way for the start of HE. The first calls of the new
Framework Programme for Research and Innovation are expected to be launched in
spring. To get a head start, join our national information event, “Horizon
Europe for Switzerland”, on 17 and 18 February 2021. Unfortunately, the late
adoption of the budget slowed down the negotiations on association to HE of
non-EU Member States, such as Switzerland. It is unlikely that the respective
agreements will be signed before autumn but the European Commission (EC)
expects that most countries that were associated to Horizon 2020 will be
associated to HE by the time the first project Grant Agreements need to be
signed. Accordingly, Swiss researchers and innovators are invited to
participate in all the first calls. The new year also brings
additional opportunities for funding and collaboration. Together with HE, the
EC has launched the Digital Europe Programme (DEP). This programme is closely
linked to HE and focuses on making Europe’s economy and society fit for the
digital age. You can learn more about DEP at our national information event as
well. Euresearch is looking
forward to informing, advising and connecting you, our readers, as well as
anybody else who is interested in European funding, as we have done in the
past. By now, this past spans almost 20 years! We are grateful that your
interest in the Framework Programmes over the last 2 decades has enabled us to
grow, and we hope that we will remain your trusted partner in the future. To
commemorate this anniversary, we have launched a fresh, new visual design. You
will have noticed our new logo by now, but have you had a look around our new
website yet? The whole Euresearch Network
wishes you a successful and inspiring year. Regina Schneider, Director of Euresearch Alexandra Rosakis, Illustration | |

to verify if an individual has been infected by the COVID-19 virus. By ensuring
the quality of the tests, the new reference materials are another important
piece of the puzzle in tackling this pandemic. |
