Partner Search: Expertise Sought in Gene Editing and Mutant Selection in the Area of Climate Resilient Crops and Plant-Based Biomanufacturing
A Lithuanian Company is preparing a submission to the upcoming Pathfinder Challenge Call “Biotech for Climate Resilient Crops and Plant-Based Biomanufacturing” with deadline on 29 October 2025.
The project focuses on utilizing new genomic techniques (NGT, gene editing) in microorganisms to enhance their efficacy for agricultural applications.
The following expertise is sought:
1. An experienced Scientific Institution with proven expertise in gene editing for challenging microorganisms, particularly spore-forming species. The institution should have experience applying NGT techniques and achieving stable mutations in these microorganisms.
2. Partner for Mutant Selection with the knowledge and methodologies to identify the most promising mutants from a large pool of samples. These mutants should be selected based on their expression of specific traits, such as nutrient solubilization capacity and similar properties.
More information on the Pathfinder Challenge Topic can be found in the EIC Work Programme p 34 ff here.
Applicants from Switzerland are eligible for participation as beneficiary and coordinator to this call.
