Staying Connected: Switzerland Makes Its Mark on Horizon Europe
As we reflect on 2024, Swiss research and innovation has once again demonstrated resilience and excellence in Horizon Europe (HE). Although Switzerland is not associated to HE, Swiss-based applicants continued to submit to numerous calls for proposals. Their adaptability has ensured that Switzerland remains a valuable HE partner. Applicants from Switzerland have taken on key roles, made important contributions to collaborative projects, and secured connections to their community beyond national borders.
Throughout the year, Euresearch offered info events, training, and personalised guidance to support these efforts—from the initial ideas, through proposal preparation and submission to project implementation. Again this year, we were proud to showcase several Success Stories, highlighting the impact of Swiss involvement and the enduring strength of collaboration with European partners. Euresearch remains dedicated to helping the Swiss research and innovation community stay connected and thrive.
We would like to remind everyone that Switzerland can participate in various HE instruments. Thanks to funding from the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation, applicants from Switzerland have the means to engage in collaborative projects. Furthermore, because of the transitional arrangement between Switzerland and the EU, they are eligible to apply for several European Research Council (ERC) calls in the 2025 programme year. For more details on participation and funding, visit our webpage on Switzerland’s status in Horizon Europe and explore the opportunities ahead.
We wish you a joyful festive season and a happy end to the year!
